CUBORO WAVE a new form of movementWAVE the CUBORO : the Marble not only Marble straight or through tunnels, but also moves gently up and down—similar to a wave.

A new movement in the CUBORO Marble run system

The set CUBORO WAVE expands the CUBORO Marble run system a new type of Course. The specially developed wave elements guide the Marble a rhythmic up-and-down motion. This creates track sections that are significantly different from classic straight or curved tracks.

The long wave rail in particular enables smooth, flowing rolling across multiple elements. At the same time, new Level switcher open up Level switcher transitions between different levels.

During construction, this constantly gives rise to new movements—sometimes calm and steady, sometimes surprising and dynamic.

Inspiration from nature

The idea for CUBORO WAVE did not originate in the office, but outdoors in nature. While sailing, I observed the calm movement of a boat over the waves. Suddenly, an image came to mind: a Marble that not only rolls straight, but also moves gently up and down – similar to a boat on the water. This observation gave rise to the idea of incorporating this movement into the CUBORO Marble run system .

From idea to CUBORO Element

The implementation of the curved shapes presented us with a number of challenges.

Together with our team, we created numerous prototypes. In close cooperation with the carpentry firm Nyfeler Holzwaren AG, molds were tested, adapted, and further developed.

We spent many months working on the form, Function feel of the game until the movement of Marble worked Marble as we had imagined.

Our long-standing graphics partner Pixelfarm also supported the development and helped to visually implement the new idea.

After around a year of development, the result was the current CUBORO WAVE set – made from natural beech wood and Swiss Made in the heart of Switzerland.

Like all CUBORO , WAVE is suitable WAVE players of all ages. Children intuitively experiment with the new elements, while adults enthusiastically plan complex track layouts.

Many of the elements unfold their full potential when interacting with other building blocks. It becomes particularly exciting when several waves are combined or connected with other elements.

Even more possibilities arise when WAVE is combined WAVE other CUBORO —for example, with the starter sets CUBORO or CUBORO JUNIOR. This allows the CUBORO Marble run system to growMarble run system by step with the ideas of the players.

An award for the further development of CUBORO

As the son of CUBORO Matthias Etter, I am Marble run system in the second generation of developing the Marble run system . Coming up with new ideas for this special system is always an exciting journey for me.

That CUBORO WAVE has now been awarded the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026, which of course makes me very happy. Above all, however, it is a wonderful confirmation of the joint work of our team and our partners.
